EÖTVÖS CUP

– popularization of volleyball
– facilities for competing and playing
– meeting and making friends between the members of the Hungarian and Foreign teams
– chance to show their talent

Attendants of the Competition:
National select teams, sportsclubs, schools of which boy and girl players were born after 1st January, 2002. The team can include 2 player born in 2001. Altogether, maximum 16 girl and 16 boy teams can take part in the competition.
Certification:
For teams of Hungarian sportsclubs: Sport Certificate. For Hungarian school teams: Student- and ID Card. For Foreign teams: Passport is necessary.
Please, note that the trainers always have to keep the certifications by themselves.
Medical certificate is needed in every case.

Course of Competition:
The game starts with group matches. Every team plays with all of the teams within the group. The final order is formed when the teams create new groups on the basis of their former places. Every match takes for 2 won games.
Prize: All the teams win cups. 1st -3rd places: the players and the trainers win medals. Every team gets a diploma of merit. All of the trainers and players get some gifts at the tournament.
Extra Prizes: 6 players, who get into the Selected Team of the Tournament
(Remuneration boys and girls is separate.)
Entry: As soon as possible, but latest until 30 June 2024.
Maximum 16 girl & boy teams can take part in the competition, that is why the entries are accepted in the order of the entry fee.
If you want to have part in the 28th Eötvös Cup , please send a photo of the team, because we want to put it into our publication. Please write me your team’s name, the coach’s name, the players names and birthdays, and the contact of your club (e-mail, homepage, trainer’s mobilphone number, fax, post address).
The teams are to meet the charges of travel, accommodation and board.
The Eötvös DSE is to meet the charges of the organization. If you request, we can provide accommodation (in student’s hostel: 4500 HUF/person/night) and board: breakfast about 1000 HUF, lunch about 1800 HUF, dinner about 1400 HUF) for you. You can do your order on the order form. In case of establishing an exchange visit (or with extra invitation card) the board and the lodging are free, you have to pay only for the entry.
By entering Eotvos Cup event, visitors accept that video and
audio recordings might be made. They can be publicized by the organizer on
television, on the radio, in press, on video recordings or on photos advertising
and popularizing the competition and volleyball sport. All those people who can
be seen on these recordings can be named. These players may not stake any claim
whatsoever in connection with the use of these recordings against the organisers
or the producers of the recordings.

Others: The 28th Eötvös Cup is organized according to the valid rules of the gama of FIVB. Officials will rule the different questions during the matches.

Aims of the competition:
– popularization of beach volleyball
– possibility to play and compete
– meeting and forming new friendships with players from all over the world
– good chance for the players to show off their volleyball talents
– win the 28th Eötvös Cup
Participants: national teams, club teams, school teams, girls’ teams of the following age groups:
Women:
• Adults
• players born in or after 2004 (U 20)
• players born in or after 2006 (U 18)
• players born in or after 2008 (U 16)
• players born in or after 2010 (U 14)
Men:
• Adults
• players born in or after 2006 (U 18)
• players born in or after 2010 (U 14)
Team size: 2 players, with no substitutions allowed. Maximum 16 teams can participate in each gender and age group.
Player eligibility: Player eligibility is based on their birth date (all players must be age appropriate). Verified Player ID Cards, Student Cards, ID Cards or Passports are accepted as identification documents. Players must be prepared to present age verification at all times during the tournament. Each participant takes part in the tournament at their own risk. Organizers are not responsible for any injuries or accidents that might happen to participants during the tournament.
Gifts, administration, document checking: 19th and 20th August 2023 from 8 to 9 in front of the main entrance of the beach.
Competition rules: A pool play format is used in the tournament. Teams are divided into pools, each team in a given pool is scheduled to play all other teams in that pool once. A match is played to 21 points with a two point difference.
In the other categories a team has three hits (including the block touch) for returning the ball. Soft dink (open hand, spread fingertips) or overhand pass is not allowed to complete an attack hit (even when strong wind conditions exist), the ball must be cleanly hit or ’pop’ off the hand. However, receive of setting with an overhand pass is allowed (first and second hit). Competition rules can be found on the website of the Hungarian Volleyball Federation and the Volleyball Association of Hajdú-Bihar County.
Registration: As soon as possible, no later than 30th June 2023. Registration deadline: 30th June 2023.
A maximum of 16 teams per age groups can participate, so entries will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. The entry will only be accepted if the entry fee has been paid.
Awards: Trophies will be awarded to each member of the first place teams.
Medals will be awarded to the first, second and third place teams in each gender and age group. Prizes for all participants.
Expenses: The entry fee (3500 HUF/person), which includes the price of the tickets for the beach swimming pools and prizes offered by the sponsors. Travel expenses, costs of accommodation and meals are also covered by the participants. Costs of organization are covered by the organizer. If someone enters but does not show up for the tournament, the entry fee will not be refunded. Should the tournament be missed due to the epidemic, the entry fees will be refunded or valid for the next tournament.
If required, accommodation can be booked (in Debrecen 4500 HUF/person/night). Please indicate in the registration form if you need accommodation and the organizers will make the booking. It’s not possible to cancel your reservation after the deadline. Only the entry fee has to be paid by teams in the exchange program and teams with an exclusive invitation.
Regulations: Organizers reserve the right to make changes due to extreme weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. Rain date: 20th August 2023. Any cases not mentioned in the present Regulations should be decided by the Competition Committee. Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated and may lead to exclusion from play. All participants take part at their own risk.

The organizers may use such photos, videos or audio recordings for any lawful purpose (including promotion of the event or sport, in any medium including print and electronic) without compensation to you. Organizers may use such photographs and/or videos with or without associating names thereto. Any issues not mentioned here, should be decided by the Competition Committee. The Committee reserves the right to make changes if necessary. Any change in the program or regulations will be available on the website.

The 27th Eötvös Cup will be organized and played according to the FIVB rules. The Competition Committee makes a decision in any debates in connection with the play.
